Can the engine(s) be started without the captains fob?

• For 1st Mate users without TDS enabled, the engine(s) will start without a fob present.  An audible alarm will alert you that the fob is not connected.
• For 1st Mate users with TDS enabled, the ability for the engine(s) to start depends on how the user configures the system through the app.  TDS can be configured to lock/unlock by connecting the captains fob, entering pin through the app, or by pressing the NFC tag against the NFC field on the hub.  If TDS is Locked, the 1st Mate system will do the following:
  • For the Mercury version, the engine(s) will start but will be limited in rpm.  The user does have the option to configure the system to disable engine start.
  • For the All Leading Engine Brands version, the engine(s) will not start.
