Time for a new boat? What to consider when selling or trading-in your boat with 1st Mate installed.

If the time comes and you need to trade-in or sell your boat, there are some things to consider.

• Releasing your 1st Mate system so a new owner can take "ownership" of the system. This allows the new owner to create an account, connect to the 1st Mate hub and take "ownership" of the boat. 
• The new owner may need to connect to the 1st Mate hub to add Fobs, add users, enable/disable TDS, etc. They cannot do this without the previous owner releasing the 1st Mate system from their account.
• Attempting to transfer ownership of the 1st Mate system after the boat has been sold can be difficult and time consuming for the new owner. 
• The new owner may incur additional costs associated with getting the 1st Mate hub released or having to install a new system.

How to release a vessel/boat from your account?

While logged into the 1st Mate app, select MENU(top left of the screen) > Select VESSEL SETTINGS>Select MY VESSEL INFORMATION>scroll to the bottom>Select DELETE OR TRANSFER VESSEL. From there you can select the option that best suits your situation.
